Valentines Day Guide for Grooms

Every year, Valentines day comes around and we are over here just on cloud nine. We are proud to say that February is one of our favorite months. Its a month of Love and we are loving it! Every year we see the same things and we are certainly not opposed to the typical things like chocolates and flowers but we want to see a little more effort. We are taking your typical Valentines day staples and making them unique and personal for your spouse. We are also sharing a few ways of including your wedding vendors into this special day.

Flowers

If your spouse loves flowers then GET HER FLOWERS! This typical Valentines day staple is not something us girls who love flowers will ever get tired of. But dont just go to the local grocery store and buy a bouquet of roses, nothing against grocery store flowers or roses, but this is not personal enough. The flowers should be unique just like your spouse.

Include your Wedding Vendor: Our best advice is to call your wedding florist (if you have one contracted) and have them create a beautiful arrangement. Many florists do occasional flowers and they would be more than happy to make something for you. One big plus to this is your wedding florist knows your spouse and their style and will be able to create something they know they will like. Another plus..... you get to see your florists work in action before your wedding.

DO NOT PROCRASTINATE! Florists can book up with requests so dont wait to place your order!!!!

Sweets

That little heart shaped box of chocolates is pretty typical of valentines day but we can make it better! There are so many options out there other than the traditional chocolates. This may require a little bit of research but many local bakeries offer V-day treats. You need to know what your spouse loves though. Do they like chocolate, cake, cookies??? Don't get them the wrong thing.

Include your wedding vendor: Do you have your wedding cake booked? Call the bakery and see what they have to offer for Valentines day. You can even get a small cake for your two to share as well. There are endless options.... think outside the box.

Date Night In

We all know how hectic going out for a date night dinner at a restaurant can be. You can expect them to be busy, you can expect to probably have to wait for your table (even if you made a reservation), and you can expect it to be expensive. Its important to remember its this day is not about money or how much you can spend. It is about LOVE! So make sure you focus on that. If you are not super into the idea of going out for dinner, just stay in! But be sure to make it special. Whether you order food or cook at home, be sure to go the extra mile to make it special. Light some candles, get some flowers, play some music... basically make that dinner like a cheesy Nicholas Sparks Movie. Valentines day falls on a Wednesday this year so going out may not be as exciting as some may imagine. Staying in may just be the best thing!
